ANNOUNCEMENT - eInvoice

As part of our commitment to compliance with regulatory requirements set forth by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), we would like to announce a transitional period during which our company will begin issuing e-Invoices exclusively. This transition period has been granted by the IRB to allow businesses and policy holders adequate time to adjust to the new requirements.

Key Points:

  1. Transition Period: During the transitional period (i.e. 1 August 2024 to 30 June 2025), businesses and policy holders can continue to rely on existing supporting documents as proof of expenses. This concession aims to facilitate a smooth transition to the new e-Invoice system.
  2. Effective Date: Our company will commence issuing e-Invoices starting from 1 July 2025.

Based on the latest e-invoicing guidelines as issued by IRBM, please note that there is no requirement for the businesses / individuals to obtain validated e-invoices from Pacific & Orient Insurance Co. Bhd for income tax deduction / relief purposes at this juncture.

We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we work together to implement these changes in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. You may also click here for details on our e-Invoicing information.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Towing during Hari Raya festive

In anticipation of the Hari Raya holiday period (from 28th March to 9th April), we expect heavy traffic congestion on highways and major roads. To ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery, we have prepared the following mitigation plan for handling towing requests during this period:

1. Highway Breakdowns:

  • For vehicles breaking down on highways, we will first advise customers to contact Highway Assist (PLUS/LLM)to tow their vehicle to the nearest exitfor safety.
  • Once the vehicle is moved to a safer location, we will continue towing to the designated workshop, subject to tow truck availability.
  • If no tow truck is available, we will:
    • Make an appointmentwith the customer for towing at a later time, or
    • Allow the customer to use their own towing serviceand reimburse the cost later (subject to policy entitlement and verification).

2. Long-Distance/Interstate Towing:

  • No long-distance or interstate towingwill be arranged during the festive period due to expected traffic congestion.
  • For emergency roadside breakdowns, we will tow the vehicle to the nearest in-house workshop’s stockyardand park it there temporarily.
  • After the holiday period (by 9th April), we will arrange the second towingto the customer’s desired workshop at no extra charge.

3. Breakdowns on Old Roads (e.g., Raub to Kuala Lipis – Gua Musang – Kota Bahru):

  • For breakdowns on old roads without Highway Assist, towing services may be delayed due to traffic congestion.
  • We will suggest customers to make an appointmentfor towing or use their own towing serviceif immediate assistance is required.
  • Customers may need to arrange their own transportto leave the breakdown location.

4. Prioritization of Resources:

  • During the festive season, towing resources will be prioritizedfor:
    • Accident casesrequiring immediate assistance.
    • Breakdowns at roadside emergency locations.
  • For non-roadside breakdowns, we will schedule appointmentsto manage resources effectively.

We believe these measures will help us manage the expected surge in towing requests during the festive period. Please let us know if you have any feedback or require further clarification.
